Dr. Singh received her MD from the Russian Peoples Friendship University and her MPH from St. Georges University, Grenada. As the former Programme Manager for the National AIDS Programme at the Guyana Ministry of Health, she has authored numerous research studies on various aspects of HIV/AIDS, including the role of faith-based organisations, HIV and TB, HIV prevention, men who have sex with men, and the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. Dr. Shanti’s research interests include monitoring and evaluation, youth issues, and women’s issues.
