FEES Annual Orientation 2019/2020

The Faculty of Earth & Environmental Sciences (FEES) held its Annual Orientation Exercise on August 29, 2019 in the SEBI Building. Approximately eighty (80) new students from the Undergraduate and Graduate levels attended the session and listened to a presentation by the Guest Speaker – Dr. Mark Bynoe. Other presentations were made on Plagiarism and a Desirable Approach to your Programme of Study. Students were also informed of the two existing clubs/societies (UGGS and Eco Trust) in the FEES.

Department of Geography awarded the Special Achievement in GIS 2019 Award

The Department of Geography, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences has been awarded Esri’s Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) 2019 Award.

The department was nominated by Esri’s regional provider, Spatial Innovision, in recognition of user sites around the world to recognize outstanding work with GIS technology, and was selected from more than 100,000 others.

It gives me great pleasure to address you as you are officially ending a phase of your earthly sojourn, which is definitely the beginning of another adventure. You have stepped over the line of ignorance and, therefore, have been armoured with skills, technical know-how and educational ammunitions which should equip you in addressing numerous challenges that may confront you, your career, our dear country, and the human race.
