Carolyn Cummings-Lindie is an experienced educator who has taught levels ranging from early childhood to university for almost 20 years. She has a passion for nurturing and educating young people, helping them acquire critical thinking and writing skills that will assist them throughout their lifetime and especially for academic and professional success.

She was trained at the Cyril Potter College of Education and acquired a Trained Teacher’s Certificate. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in English, majoring in Linguistics and minoring in Fine Arts at the University of Guyana and her Master of Arts in English Language at the University of the West Indies. This educational foundation has fostered a passion for teaching and a deep understanding and appreciation of linguistic and cultural diversity of the people of Guyana, the Anglophone Caribbean and other territories.

Ms Cummings-Lindie is also an amateur artist who enjoys graphic art, drawing and painting. She has served as an adjudicator for many competitions including debate and drama competitions.

She currently lectures English Language and Linguistics in the Department of Language and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Education and Humanities at the University of Guyana Turkeyen Campus.
