Ms. Alicia Layne has 5 years of experience teaching within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Guyana. Her main areas of teaching relate to the mathematical foundations of computer science and software engineering. Ms. Layne has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Guyana and an MSc in Information Systems from University of Manchester.

Her primary research focuses on computing education and the development and use of information systems to effect sustainable change and development in transitional contexts. Additionally, Ms. Layne has supported a number of undergraduate research projects in the areas of e-learning, m-health and augmented reality.
