Department of Biology
Dr. Jaikishun joined the department of Biology in 2010. Over the years he has taught several courses, including Phanerogamic and Cryptogamic Botany, Mycology, Plant Pathology, Environmental Ethics, Phycology, Taxonomy, and Systematics, etc. He is also responsible for the supervision of research at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. levels and currently serves as the Coordinator for the MSc (Forestry Biology) program. Additionally, he is currently serving as an Assistant Chief Examiner for the Caribbean Examinations Council’s Examinations in Human and Social Biology and is integrally involved in the Online Teacher Education expansion at the Cyril Potter College of Education. Dr. Jaikishun has jointly published in several peer-reviewed journals and books and his areas of research interests include vermitechnology, organic farming, earthworm taxonomy, environmental pollution, and transcriptomic studies.
