Dr. Mohammad Kafeel A. Ansari is currently serving as Associate Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Guyana, South America. He worked as Visiting Scientist at the University of South Australia and then as F.C. Research Scientist at the University of Anadolu, Turkey. He also worked as Dr. D.S. Kothari Research Fellow/Academic (Assist Prof.) at the Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi. Aso he served as Australian Awards Ambadassor for higher educational institutions of India, Govt of Australia. Later, he was associated with SP University, India as Associate Professor of Botany. He has more than 12 years of experience in teaching and research in Environmental Engineering (Phytoremediation Technology) and Cyanobacterial Engineering (Laccase potential of decolorizing chemical dyes).
His scientific interest include aromatics & medicinal plants, cyanobacterial laccase engineering, environmental engineering, plant ecophysiology, phytoremediation, molecular biology, protein characterization and purification. He has guided many undergraduate and post-graduate students in the capacity of his area of expertise (phytoremediation and cyanobacterial biotechnology) at national and international level. He has involved in a number of national and internation research projects. He has a global research collboration with Australia, Malaysia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UK and USA.
He is recepient of various prestigious national and international research awards/fellowships including AFMI, Endeavour Award, Foreign Citizen Research Awards, HNF, International Scientist Award, Dr. Kothari Research Fellowship Award, National Award for excellence in higher education etc) in his academic career. He has been enaging with several professioanl memberships of Europe, Hong-Kong, Italy, India and USA. He has attended various national and international coferences. He has published more than 33 research papers in peer reviewed International journals including 11 conference procedings, and 06 book chapters. Currently, he is editing 03 books with International publishers (Springer, Taylors & Francics etc). At present, he is serving as member of many editorial boards and reviewer of a number of high impacts international scientific journals.
