About The Dean

Miss Verlyn Klass is a professional electrical engineer with several years of practical experience in engineering and managerial positions at the electric power utility and as a consulting engineer.  In 2002 she joined the University of Guyana as a Senior Lecturer and has held positions as Head, Department of Electrical Engineering and Dean, Faculty of Technology.  She is presently the local programme coordinator of the MScRET programme jointly run at the Universities of Guyana and Suriname.  Miss Klass has authored a report evaluating the Amaila Falls hydropower project against various hydropower and other renewable and non-renewable resources.  She also authored the Guyana Power Sector Policy and Investment Strategy whose findings were approved by the Guyana Cabinet.  In 2014, Miss Klass received the honour of Fellow of the Guyana Association of Professional Engineers and was recently appointed to the board of Power Products & Distribution Inc.
