Holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Sociology (Credit) and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Social Studies) (Credit) both from the University of Guyana, and Master of Arts in Gender and Peace Building from the University for Peace. He joined the faculty in 2002 in the Department of Sociology. He has served in various administrative capacities including as Coordinator for the Centre for Communication Studies, Head of the Department of Sociology and Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. In addition to the Department of Sociology he also lectures with the Institute of Distance and Continuing Education and the Division of Social Sciences at the University of Guyana Tain Campus. Prior to joining the faculty he was Peer Educator with the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association.
