HISTORY OF FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE & FORESTRY

1977    The Faculty was established and offered a BSc in General Agriculture.
1987    Diploma in Forestry was introduced.
1996   Bachelor of Science in Forestry was introduced.
1989

  The Forestry Unit was moved from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor to the Faculty of Agriculture.

2002

  The Faculty of Agriculture was renamed the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. The Forestry Unit was upgraded to the Department of Forestry. The UK Department for International Development (DFID) provided a building for the Forestry Department through the Guyana Forestry Commission Support Project funding.

2016

  The curricula for both the Diploma and the B.Sc. in Forestry were extensively revised. The Diploma in Forestry was replaced by the Associate of Scence in Forestry.

2017   The Master of Science in Agrotechnology and Business was introduced.
