Message from the Coordinator

A hearty welcome to all new students who are reading for the Bachelor’s degree in Medical Rehabilitation and those reading for the Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy and Audiology in the department of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Guyana.

As you begin your journey to attain tertiary education I want to encourage you to remain focused, work hard and keep thinking of the results four years down the line.

The Bachelor’s degree in Medical Rehabilitation is a four year programme where students can major in either Physiotherapy or Occupational therapy (after the third year) BMR/BMP.  The four year Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy and Audiology BMS (SLT/Aud.) is a fairly new programme but it is now in great demand in Guyana as well as overseas. Students who did this programme claim that they started the first weeks with a query but after the first year found that their quest for knowledge in this area had grown so deeply they just could not stop reading.
