Associate of Science (ASc) in Computer Science

Computer Science is a field that aims to solve problems using computers and computational techniques. In particular Computer Science concerns the study of how computers and computer systems work and the study of how computers manage information. Computer Science as a discipline also incorporates the application of computers in society and the study of the limits of computers. Computer Science mainly deals with the study of the software elements of computing.

The ASc in Computer Science will provide students with exposure to the fundamental principles of computing and computer science. To this end the ASc exposes students to the fundamental principles in five broad areas of study:  mathematical foundations of computer science; algorithm design and analysis, implementation of algorithms as computer programs, data management and communication systems, and software engineering.
