Wildlife Field research methods (March 12-16th 2018)

Conducted at the Guyana Forestry Commission’s research site, Yarrowkabra biological field station with twenty-six (26) participants that included University of Guyana faculty, students, as well as professional staff from natural resource agencies (Protected Areas Commission, Guyana Forestry Commission, National Museum). During this course students were taught to identify, observe and capture mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Specifically, all participants learned to used camera traps, mist nets, Sherman traps and to carry out basic animal surveys.
