Department of Biology
Mrs. Kimberly Craig-Seymour has been with the Biology Department as a Lecturer, in the Faculty of Natural Sciences for ten (10) years. Her areas of specialty include all things plant-related including Plant and General Biology, Plant Ecology, Plant Pathology, and extends to Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Ecology. She has an established track record of academic experience and success in these areas through the teaching of courses, laboratory exercises, training, publications, and research. Some of her research work extends from independent research on mangroves, as in the North-Brazil Shelf Large Marine Ecosystem Project, to a currently ongoing research project at a soon-to-launch conservation area in Guyana. Her academic qualifications have bridged the gap between Education and Science including her Master's Degrees in both Biology (University of Guyana) (2017) and Educational Leadership (University of Bedfordshire) (2020). Her body of Ph.D. work commences in January 2023. Currently, she serves on the Research and Internship Committee for her Department. When not busy, Mrs.Craig enjoys spending time with her husband and children and baking up some delicious treats.
